Smith 6079 release their latest single a double A side featuring a cover of the epic Simon & Garfunkel track The Sound of Silence and the brand new track Here Again.

The band picked up the Industry award for 2007 BEST NEW BAND at the Glasswerk New Music Awards in London late last year and they also scooped the BEST VIDEO award for Kill Romeo, a supremely dark and quirky video directed by Martin Denham to accompany last years debut single.

People talking without speaking : People hearing without listening

Formed in Manchester, England only two years ago. The band set out on a musical mission to ‘drop bombs’ with their unique sound and stunning live set which take the form of a great event, mixing quiet and calm with a subconscious, hypnotic mantra that soon converts the non believers. For a band who tread so near the edge, they have captured, twisted and taken one of the most iconic tunes of modern time and given it the unique Smith 6079 identity and mixed it with the epic Woodbine ridden vocals of lead singer Moon. Here Again is a modern observation on not believing everything you read and strikes a cord with the Orwellian links.

The band have achieved cult status in their home city of Manchester. A status confirmed when Fly magazine saw the band live and named them as 'The Ones To Watch'. Five brooding, dark and complex characters form Smith 6079 and all bring their unique musical take to the table to create a truly captivating and raw sound.

The bands live sound was instantly picked up on last year by Martin Elbourne, resulting in the band playing the main stage at the huge JerseyLive Festival. You can catch the unique live set next at The Academy 3 in Manchester on April 1st.
