Unsigned Chart - The Original Unsigned Chart

It started off at 5am when I set off driving to Bournemouth, sunny morning and 3 coffees down I was ready for the world!
I had downloaded some of the music from here the day before onto a disc and slipped that into the cars player as I set off.... it kicked off with London Town by Gabriel... loving that track :)
I was soon onto the A35 eastbound and thinking of how I was to present the unsigned chart to people at 3 of the meetings planned for the day, sure I had already printed out why the site was the best, and how much talent was on there, I even wrote some splurge about the state of music today, but all that seemed to fade away as I listened to the music from the artists here.
In the car the sound is just that much better, alone you can really get into the lyrics and feel that bass bump the car all over the road!
It was then I realised that on starting off each meeting today I'll just hand them this disc and say go ahead rock on that!
And that is just what I did!

Special mention here to Kashmir Red... YOU GUYS ROCK, bloody hell I played Kings and The Queens as I sped down the bypass and I'm sure my car was flying off the ground, 3 times I repeated the song and the 45 miles of tarmac vanished in a blur. My favourite all time car grinding tune is MOTORHEAD and The Ace Of Spades, but you guys blew that song clean out of the water with Kings and the Queens, I was literally racing for breath at the end of the 3 song repeat marathon.... Rock On!

The first meeting was at 10am and this was to open the way for us to place bands at one of the biggest events Bournemouth has ever held, The More Bus Air Festival in August. I sat down and we all introduced ourselves and then I said, look I have my presentation but how about we get down to music.... I slipped them the disc.
On it went onto a huge wall screen and the music started, 27 tracks and although not all were to their liking, a lot were and they were smiling... yeahaargghhh!
This really did save us all a lot of time as we all knew what we were looking for and ideas came flooding out from all sides.
So guys we may have a slot for artists in August, I'll know for sure very soon. It will be quite a good slot as they are expecting in excess of 750,000 people through the Air Festival during the 4 days that it is on.

Next up was my meeting with Martyn Hatt, he's had a hit record in the 80's ran several successful night clubs, promotes music like there's no tomorrow and all round sound guy!
We spoke a lot about so many events coming up, keep an eye out on those coming up here as some are really exciting.
Martyn put me in touch with Nick who ran the Fantasia Rave at Matchams Bournemouth in the 90's, now I missed this Rave but I am reliably informed that this "Rave" attracted over 60,000 people... I miss all the good parties!
So onto Nick, well he is putting together a festival in Portsmouth, cool, just what we like and after speaking with Nick I am hoping he'll like the site and the bands and perhaps we'll get an intro there also this year... :)

Last but not least I then met up with the guys from www.devils-music.co.uk who also run Dorset Unsigned Awards, Richard and Trevor, to see how we could work together on future events. We came up with a few good ideas and these I'll be posting shortly.
If your from Dorset grab a look at their site, might be good to join up also as they run the Playground which is regular live event for unsigned bands in the Bournemouth area.

That took me to 6pm and the next meeting.... sorry called that one off as I was knackered and wanted to get home... 3 hours drive away. Not to worry as I had already met with most of them earlier in the day and would only miss out on free drinks.... what!!! I kept my nerve and carried on driving home.....

So what a cool day and hopefully something from it will really open up avenues for us and the artists here on Unsigned Chart.

..... I am off to London next week for the shooting of the Nephu Huzzband video and meeting up with Ged Malone, www.arisingartist.com who has worked with Snoop Dog, The Go Gos, Janet Jackson and currently consults for Simple Minds... cool plus meeting up with a polo player who loves music... hmmmm

Time for bed now... well a few beers first....

All good Keith, it's good to see a site that 'put's it's money where it's mouth is'. Too many fakers out there only interested in themselves.

Cheers
