unsigned, fresh new breaking artists & bands... UNSIGNED CHART

Hi everyone.
Are any of you interested at all in using the words of other writers to fit your music to?
I like listening to music, but have none of the skills needed to either write, or play any, however, I do quite a lot of writing, poetry mainly, some of which may be suitable for setting to music of various kinds; the most recent piece is in the form of an hymn, [not everyone's taste I realize, but things sometimes write themselves!].
I'd be happy to post one or two pieces.

Hello 'Clay Faces',
that's very encouraging; thanks for your interest; I will post some shortly.

Hello again 'Clay Faces',
as promised: this is the most recent one, and as I said, it is not to everyone's taste, certainly not suitable for any form of 'popular' music, but someone on site may like to set music to it for use in place of the original form of words for the 23rd psalm

SHEPHERD

My Saviour’s flock I will not leave;
He gives me everlasting light;
How can I ever not believe?
Sweet Jesus Christ my shepherd is

When enemies are round about
He sets my table in their sight
And I can never have a doubt
Sweet Jesus Christ my shepherd .is.

Death holds no fear, I fear not hell;
The greatest thing I know is this
He mends my soul, and I know well
Sweet Jesus Christ my shepherd is.

He is my shield and in his glow
My life will always be so bright
I will not want, that’s how I know
Sweet Jesus Christ my shepherd is.

And when I come to death’s dark door
He’ll hold me safe, I’ll feel no fright
His rod and staff are comfort for,
Sweet Jesus Christ my shepherd is.

Here's one of mine....

The Imaginery Lovers

Sitting on a rock beside their Imaginery Lake
One imagines the foam caressing and soothing their bodies
In this abode they needeth no clothes
For theirs is a tradition of one flesh
Of unclad skin
Of mutual trust
Bound firmly by love.
One spies the Imaginery Lovers
Lit starkly by the orb of the Moon
Mouth joined to mouth
Hand to hand
Eye to eye
Breast to breast
For theirs is a tradition
A test
Each toying with each other
Until the seeds of doubts sown in thier hearts
Have fallen by the wayside
And rapturous applause
Fills their Imaginery ears.
So helplessly enveloped in a cloud
I wish I were a Magician,
I would venture forth out of this affliction
And saunter down to that, so brief a Lake
I would sit on the rock
And congratulate those Imaginery Lovers
But what's the point when it's all Imaginery ?
Undoubtedly they'd take me away
And lock me up
The poor madman I have become.

I think it's best left as a poem.
Maybe one day I'll add some music to it.

Very pleasant; thanks for sharing.

You are welcome, sometimes poems are best left as poems I think.

Patch it up as best you can with a lick and a promise
Who's breaking up the ataraxia
In the clear light of day you steal the planet by contraband
How does it taste, is it sweet like halvah
Are you numb ,struck dumb, looking for the mantic
You want to apply some praxis
You're needing more practice
Have you lost the sapid of love and life
The idea should be whole, not semilunar
Born from natures serendipity
There is you and there is me.
So what's the news on your views
What will you choose
You're spirits moving destiny with the zeitgeist
So be wise

Fair comment.

Stunning! but there are one, or two words I've not come across, ataraxia, halvah, praxis, sapid, zeitgeist,[though obviously taken in context with the whole, the meaning is clear], nevertheless, I think I need to resort to my dictionary before giving a more in depth comment.

Hi Salmagundi
We set up a place on here for writers and readers clled, the scribe.
Why not post a few pieces of your written works in there for some of the members to read.
All the best, The Radfax
